David Kakabadze "Self Portraits" 1913-1917
Destiny in the end was very favorable to the young Kakabadze – he did not end up on the front of the first world war, he continued to work in the homefront, and probably as an engineer at the Shliselburg Powder Factory. It was a difficult time and young artists living in St Petersburg in 1917 – which became Petrograd- could not but witness the beginning of the revolution and the preparations to take over from the Bolsheviks
